In addition to the above mostly non-profit volunteer projects, EcoWhale President, Eric Talaska, makes every effort to promote environmental, conservation and personal natural health awareness with everyone he meets. Eric also lives the following lifestyle to set an example:
~ Does not have any children in this already overly populated world; the culprit of most eco problems.
~ Dumpster dives to keep good usable items out of the landfill and prevent manufacture repeat.
~ Gave up his luxury SUV for a small car primarily for environmental concerns. Current car: Honda Civic.
~ Lives in a modest, energy efficient home with no swimming pool or sauna.
~ Works from home to eliminate fuel-consuming commutes.
~ Does not use air travel for pleasure / vacations. May use for eco-promotions if the only practical option.
~ Does not consume animal products. Eats organic foods when possible.
~ Works an organic garden at home. Throws all organic waste in a compost pile instead of landfill.
~ Does not smoke or use any drugs to include prescription drugs (unless required for health).
~ Does not use disposible convenience-only products such as styrofoam cups, napkins, etc.
~ Uses non-toxic cleaning and other household items and products.
~ Eager to do much more, but limited due to financial, societal and community constraints.
